Autonomous Vessels Being Designed for PIC EEZ Monitoring

 

 

New Zealand robotics firm X-craft is has developed an autonomous vessel with the intent to help safeguard Pacific Island Countries' EEZs from illegal fishing, as well as aid in search and rescue efforts. Fitted with sensors for geosynchronous positioning, scientific research can be aided in "the most cost effective" manner possible through monitoring and surveillance efforts within PICs' maritime boundaries.
