Tonga has launched a Joint Maritime Coordination Centre funded under Australia's Defence Cooperation Program. This Centre is intended as the main point for staging all maritime patrols and operations including His Majesty's Armed Forces (HMAF), Customs, Fisheries, and Police. Australia has also provided a Guardian Class Patrol boat and aerial surveillance capacity through its Pacific Maritime Surveillance Program. Information from the Forum Fisheries Agency, Marine and Ports, Tonga Customs and Police will also be utilised.
