Mekong Delta clean-up activities now supported by solar vessels

Hanwha, a South Korean industrial construction and engineering firm, is partnering with the Global Green Growth Institute to deploy solar-powered boats they've designed, manufactured, and donated to assist in cleaning up pollution in Vietnam's waterways.  The two vessels are powered by energy derived from Hanwha's Hanwha Q CELLS Q.PEAK DUO-G5 solar modules, and will serve as a pilot project to gather solid waste from the Mekong river. The project was deployed in the interest of supporting UN Sustainable Development Goal Targets 12.5 (substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse), and 12.8 (ensure that people everywhere have the relevant information and awareness for sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature) by 2030.
