The European Parliament voted to re-introduce subsidies worth €6 billion in the post-2020 fund for the maritime and fisheries sector (EMFF).
The subsidies would help finance the renewal of the EU fishing fleet with new fishing vessels and the modernization of older ones to increase the EU fleet’s capacity.
