Shipping boss warns over greenhouse gas delays

Global shipowners face being forced to make “drastic” and expensive changes to their fleets because they have been so slow to curb greenhouse gas emissions, a senior figure in the industry has said. Philippe Louis-Dreyfus, president of shipowners Louis Dreyfus Armateurs, told the Financial Times: “If we have things imposed on us by the [International Maritime Organisation], it’s because we have not moved and been proactive ourselves.”
